The City is under Modified Operating Conditions
The Modified Operating Conditions are because of the Coronavirus. We are monitoring Hurricane/TS Isaias.
The City of Virginia Beach continues to monitor and adjust to changing conditions related to the Novel Coronavirus COVID-19. There are national, state and local declarations of emergency in place and we are following the guidance from the Virginia Department of Health as well the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide for the safety of our citizens and employees.
The City of Virginia Beach, through its Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and the National Weather Service/Wakefield (NWS), is monitoring this weather system that could bring heavy rain, rough surf, possible tidal flooding and hurricane force winds to Virginia Beach, especially along the Chesapeake Bay and throughout Southside Hampton Roads.
